Draw an outline plan of the room, indicating the area(s) you want to tile. Measure the area(s) to be tiled and note this on your drawing. Take the drawing with the measurements along to the showroom and staff will work out exactly how many tiles you need.

This will save you buying too few or too many and give you a good estimate on which to judge if it meets your budget.

It is also important to take into account the tile's thickness. This is particularly important when it comes to floors because it will dictate the floor level.

An additional 10% should be added to the order quantity to allow for wastage arising from cutting and minor imperfections.
