Choose your tiles first
You can find any paint colour your heart desires and there are millions of wallpapers, textiles and fabric designs to choose from. When it comes to tiles, however, the choice is less flexible. If you know you want tiles, it is best to select these first and then match up your paint colours and fabrics. It is easy enough to change your paint mix but you cannot have your tiles re-glazed.
Mix and match
Many people mistakenly believe that they must stick to one type of product. Mixing a ceramic tile with a slate, metal or glass tile, for instance, will give the finished look your personal signature. It can also achieve serve to create a dramatic and more dynamic look.
Bordering on the offset
It is not essential to have the border tile and main tile lining up precisely. Why not resist the urge to put your border perfectly square and offset the joints so the design is not so modular but, say, at a diagonal to the rest of the pattern.
Doing this can produce greater visual impact and enhance the overall look.
Cheaper doesn't mean value for money
"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten". ANON.
Asking which is the cheapest tile without considering whether it is right for the purpose and situation may cost you more money in the long run.
The Stone & Ceramic Warehouse is more interested in value and providing the right product so explain what you want tiles for and you will get the right tile for the situation at the right price.
